Interview: Kim Hoeft

How might we best describe your business?

We are a loan production office of Bell Mortgage. It's just my daughter Kayla and I in our office and we focus on exceptional customer service and quality mortgages. We offer a wide variety of home mortgage products and love meeting with our clients and determining which financing option fits them best. We are out-of-the-box thinkers and provide solutions that other lenders may not offer.

What separates you from the competition?

I have worked at different mortgage companies, and there is no doubt in my mind I am in the BEST place! I love Bell and cannot say enough good things about them. I can get loans done much more quickly and efficiently than ever before. We close on time and try to minimize the documentation and stress. Mortgages can be scary - it's a HUGE purchase - so it's nice to make the process simple for people - especially first-time home buyers. I feel like a lot of lenders can complicate the mortgage process and create a stressful environment for clients. That's what we don't do. Out motto is "Mortgage's made simple from a lender you can trust", and I think that sums us up pretty well.

What inspires you at work?

My clients! They are my inspiration. Helping people purchase their own homes is a very rewarding profession. I love seeing people create homes for their families and make their dreams a reality. It is truly a daily inspiration!

What charities are you involved in and why?

Bell does a lot of charity work. We are involved with Simpson Housing - an organization to house, support, and advocate for people experiencing homelessness. Employees of Bell sponsor nights at this organization where they buy and prepare meals for the individuals at this shelter. We are also involved in Spare Key - an organization designed to help those families who are experiencing financial troubles make their housing payments.

One of the coolest things that Bell offers is their Pay It Forward Program. Each full-time employee gets $1,000 per year to donate to a family or organization who needs a little financial help in those trying times. It's a great way for us to make a difference in our own communities! There was over $1.5 million paid out last year in donation funds. I am proud to be part of a company making such a difference!

What is your business most passionate about?

We are passionate about creating quality, affordable loans for our clients. We want to offer the best rates and terms possible and be competitive in our marketplace. It's important for people to get a second opinion. Even though you might think you are getting the best deal out there - you may be surprised how much some lenders differ. For such a big investment, it's important to do your research and reach out to a lender you can trust.
