Hastings High School Ceramics Students Take a Stand Against Hunger
Calling all community members! Hastings High School's talented ceramics students are hosting a very special event to raise awareness and fight hunger – The Empty Bowls Project!
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 17th at 5:30 PM and head to the HHS commons for an evening filled with purpose and delicious food.
Here's what you can expect:
Choose a handcrafted bowl: These beautiful, unique bowls, created by Hastings High School's ceramics students, are yours to keep as a reminder of the ongoing fight against hunger.
Enjoy a light meal: From 5:30 to 6:30 PM, savor a delicious light meal while getting acquainted with your chosen bowl.
Learn about Hunger: A short presentation will shed light on the realities of hunger, both in our local community and around the world.
The Power of Empty Bowls
Empty Bowls is a global movement with a simple yet impactful message. By keeping a beautiful, handcrafted bowl – even when it's empty – we are reminded that there are countless individuals and families facing empty bowls every day.
Your Contribution Makes a Difference
The suggested minimum donation for this event is $10. This contribution provides you with a meal, your chosen ceramic bowl, and the immense satisfaction of knowing you're making a difference. The proceeds from this event will be split between two worthy causes:
Hastings Family Service: Our very own local food shelf, ensuring those in need within our own community have access to essential food items.
Heifer International: An organization that empowers families facing hunger by providing them with livestock (arks) like cows, goats, and rabbits. These animals provide a sustainable source of food and income, creating a ripple effect that improves lives for generations to come.
Hastings High School's ambitious goal is to raise $4,000 or more!
Witnessing the dedication and passion of these young people as they tackle the issue of world hunger is truly inspiring.
Join us on April 17th and be a part of the solution!
Spread the word and encourage your friends and family to attend. Together, we can make a difference.
