Age‑Group swimmers blaze through state championships
HAST swimmers lit up the pool on Day 2 of the 11–14 Age Group Long Course State Championships. The prelims/finals format meant each morning session was a nail‑biter, as only the top‑16 athletes returned for evening races. Hastings’ 13–14 boys’ and girls’ 400‑m freestyle relays each dropped several seconds off their seed times, setting the tone for an outstanding day. Individual standouts included Jackson Poncin, who earned third in the 50‑m breaststroke and seventh in the 100‑m backstroke; Grace Sahli, who placed 13th in the 50‑m breaststroke; and Jaren Kihima, who made finals in the 100‑m butterfly and 50‑m breaststroke. Congratulations to all the swimmers for their hard work and team spirit.

Visitors were treated to root‑beer floats, ice cream, lemonade and even a free shuttle wagon to explore the sprawling exhibits. Puppy Posie finds her forever family
Animal Ark shared a feel‑good story: Posie, a puppy rescued from an indigenous reservation with her mother and siblings, has been adopted. After receiving care in a foster home, Posie’s sweet personality blossomed and she won the hearts of her caretakers. Her adoption underscores the importance of fostering and adopting animals rather than shopping for pets. If you’re looking for a canine companion, Animal Ark invites you to browse their other adoptable animals.
