We’re building HastingsNow + Soundbites to be safe, transparent, and accountable. The sections below describe our intended steady-state policy. Today we operate under a “Beta” posture: some controls exist as manual procedures while we finish automation and auditing.
Target compliance date: January 1, 2026.

What’s true today

  • We honor good-faith takedown/correction requests and keep an internal record of the request, decision, and time stamp.

  • We label sponsored placements and keep editorial review separate from sales.

  • We avoid publishing high-risk content (health/legal/finance; minors) unless a human has reviewed it.

What’s coming by 1/1/26

  • Public Provenance Chips and Reliability Scores on every post.

  • Automated claim/citation coverage with “cite-or-degrade” ranking.

  • Formal content credentials (C2PA) on supported media.

  • Transparency dashboard with quarterly stats.

Roadmap & Compliance Status (Beta)

    Status: Manual via form/email (we keep an internal log).
    ETA: Automation + public changelog by Q1 ’26 (ack target remains 24h).

    Status: Partial automated checks + human review lanes.
    ETA: Expanded automation and reviewer tooling by Q4 ’25.

  • High-Risk Content (health/legal/finance) & Minors
    Status: Human sign-off required; minors need guardian consent or redaction.

Beta SLA (while we build)

  • Corrections/Takedowns: We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve as fast as feasible. If we miss, we’ll say so and explain why.

  • Appeals: If you disagree with a decision, reply to the ticket—another human will re-review.
