Our original features draw on interviews, on-location photography and video, documents and other identified sources. Our daily briefs select and summarize useful information from local organizations and other sources. Automated community feeds are a separate discovery format and are not individually reviewed before appearing.

We may use AI as one tool in our editorial process to assist with research, transcription, organizing source material, drafting, editing for clarity, and creating clearly labeled explainers or illustrations. These tools support our journalism; they do not replace our reporting, judgment or responsibility.

We review our original features, daily briefs and researched explainers before publication. Individual automated feed posts are not reviewed before appearing.

When an AI-assisted visual could be understood as depicting a specific person, we treat that likeness with particular care and may use a non-identifiable illustration instead.
