Mostly cloudy skies and a high near 65°F give Hastings a cooler start to October, with north-northwest winds of 5–10 mph and a very low daytime rain chance. Tonight turns mostly clear with a low around 44°F; find the forecast and a little history in Weather + On This Date for Thursday, October 1.
October begins with a few reasons to adjust your Thursday plans: a local salon celebrates 20 years, St. Mary’s opens its rummage sale, and Froth & Cork keeps the doors open until 5 p.m.
Looking ahead, Saturday brings pumpkin painting and trick-or-treating at Coborn’s, while Sunday offers a church festival and an afternoon brass concert. There are also practical opportunities for anyone sorting belongings, considering co-op ownership or planning a thoughtful flower delivery.
