1. Hastings block-party registration closes Monday
Neighborhood organizers have through Monday, July 20, to register a Hastings National Night Out block party.
The citywide gathering will be held Tuesday, August 4, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Lions Park, 1043 Fifth Street W. Hastings residents, neighborhood organizers and families can review the details and register through the City of Hastings.
Registering helps the city know where neighborhood gatherings are planned and allows hosts to request visits from participating public-safety and community representatives.
2. School-supply assistance registration opens August 3

Parents and legal guardians may begin calling Hastings Family Service at 651-437-7134 on Monday, August 3, to register eligible students for free school supplies.
The program serves students who live in or attend school in ISD 200. Distribution appointments will be scheduled for August 17–21.
Families should review the official Hastings Family Service eligibility information before calling. Registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, and eligibility documentation is required.
3. Antique Power Show returns July 24–26
The Little Log House Antique Power Show will run from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday, July 24, through Sunday, July 26, at 21889 Michael Avenue.
Admission is $12 per day for visitors ages 13 and older or $24 for a weekend pass. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.
Admission purchases are cash-only, with ATMs expected onsite. Visitors can review the official show information before traveling to the grounds.

4. Babysitting and home-alone safety classes meet next week
Hastings Community Education will hold Babysitting 101 on Tuesday, July 21, followed by F.A.S.T. Kids—Staying Safe While Home Alone on Wednesday, July 22.

5. Spiral Food Co-op opens organic peach preorder

6. Hastings wrestlers earn Fargo All-American honors

The Hastings Hawks will face Prescott at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Veterans Athletic Complex.
