Thursday, August 13, looks cooler and a little showery around Hastings, with a 30% chance of showers mainly before 2 p.m. and a high near 82°F. The night turns partly cloudy near 65°F, so check the full Hastings, MN Weather + On This Date for Thursday, August 13 as you make plans.

Thursday’s LOCAL 10 starts with a few things where timing matters: school-supply appointments are still being scheduled, an upcoming free family movie has a date, and Hastings has a Friday blood drive.

Farther down, there are weekend plans, Raiders resources, September ECFE registration and a Hastings job opening worth knowing about.

Here are 10 useful local updates for Thursday, August 13.

1. Hastings Family Service still has school-supply appointments available

Hastings Family Service said Wednesday, August 12, that spots remained available for its School Supply Assistance Program. Distribution appointments are scheduled for August 17–21.

The program is for families who live in ISD 200 or have children attending school in ISD 200. Families interested in participating should contact Hastings Family Service to register.

Because availability can change, the important detail here is the current action: families who still need school-supply assistance should reach out rather than assume appointments remain open.

HFS also posted the current school-supply availability update on Facebook.

Broadcast availability and production level can vary by event, so check the individual listing before game time.

8. Hastings ECFE registration is open for September classes
