Sunday should start cool and quiet, then settle into a partly sunny afternoon with light east wind. It is the kind of June day that works for errands, patios, yard puttering, a walk by the river, or a gentle “we should get outside” nudge from someone in the house.
Tonight looks easy, too: partly cloudy, cool, and calm enough for open windows if your house agrees.
What to wear / what to plan
Light layers early; short sleeves by afternoon.
Sunglasses are still a good idea, even with partial clouds.
Great day for downtown, Levee Park, patios, gardens, and slow Sunday chores.
Keep an eye on the updated forecast if plans stretch into the week.
Weather Joke of the Day
With calm air and a high near 76°, even the Mississippi looks like it booked a slow Sunday stroll past Levee Park.

1893 — The first Ferris wheel welcomed riders in Chicago. Visitors to the World’s Columbian Exposition climbed aboard a giant new attraction that stood about 264 feet tall and carried 2,160 passengers — a big Midwest “let’s see if this works” moment that definitely worked.
1788 — The U.S. Constitution reached the finish line for adoption. New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the Constitution, which made its adoption official under the rules set for the new government.
1997 — The WNBA played its first game. The New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks tipped off at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles; Penny Toler scored the league’s first basket, and New York won 67–57. Minnesota basketball fans can note the Lynx joined the league two years later, in 1999.
