City of Hastings - Ice Fishing

Families bundled up at Lake Rebecca Park on Saturday, January 10, 2026 for the City of Hastings Ice Fishing event—an easy, welcoming way for kids (especially youth 15 and under) to try ice fishing with confidence. With pre-drilled holes, bait, tackle, poles, and hands-on instruction from experienced volunteer anglers, the morning was all about learning, laughing, and making winter memories. Hosted by Carpenter Nature Center and Hastings Parks & Recreation, the catch-and-release event also featured a cozy hot cocoa warm-up station, onsite drawings, and generous giveaways from local sponsors.
