1. National Night Out brings free activities to Lions Park tonight

The City of Hastings will hold National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lions Park, 1043 Fifth Street W.
The free gathering is open to the general public and includes bounce houses, public-safety vehicles, community booths, activities and a hot dog dinner.
This was included in Monday’s LOCAL 10, but it returns as a same-day reminder for residents deciding how to spend Tuesday evening.
2. August 3 City Council meeting recording is available
Residents who could not attend Monday’s meeting can now watch the August 3 Hastings City Council recording from Hastings Community Television.
The video description identifies agenda topics including the Pleasant Valley Farms Environmental Assessment Worksheet, the development’s proposed park-dedication method and a PFAS update.

3. September ECFE registration is open to Hastings caregivers

4. Emily’s pastry sale moves to Friday
Emily’s Pop up Bakery has clarified that its almond-horseshoe and apple-crispy sale will take place Friday, August 7, with pickup beginning at 10 a.m.
Reservations will not be accepted until a new reservation post appears late Thursday morning, August 6. Pastries are $5 each, cash only, with a four-item limit and approximately 180 expected to be available.

6. August checkout round-ups support Black Dirt Theater

Spiral Food Co-op has selected Black Dirt Theater as its August Round Up at the Register partner.
During August, Spiral shoppers may ask a cashier to round a purchase to the nearest dollar or contribute a larger amount at checkout. The first-party Round Up announcement explains the in-store opportunity.
The announcement applies to checkout contributions and does not establish an online donation option, fundraising target or guaranteed use for a particular production.
7. Lake Isabel Flats advertises early-fall availability
Lake Isabel Flats has advertised two Hastings apartment layouts for early fall.
A two-bedroom, two-bathroom Rapids layout is advertised for early September, while a two-bedroom, two-bathroom Headwaters layout is advertised for early November.
Prospective renters should contact the property for current information. Rent, deposits, lease terms, unit numbers, application requirements and present availability were not included in the announcements and may change.
8. Beloved Bridal announces a two-floor expansion
Beloved Bridal announced Friday, July 31, that it is expanding into the former Beloved Boutique space on the first floor, creating a two-floor bridal store in downtown Hastings.

No completion date or opening date for the expanded first floor has been announced, and the two-floor project should not yet be described as finished.
9. School-supply assistance registration remains open

Hastings Family Service continues to register qualifying families for free school supplies.
The program is available to families who live within ISD 200 or have students attending an ISD 200 school. Parents and guardians may call during service hours to register and schedule a pickup appointment during the week of August 17–21.

The program led Monday’s LOCAL 10, but the ongoing registration period remains useful for families who have not yet signed up.
10. Caffeinated Rooster plans a Thursday Music + Market stop

Caffeinated Rooster’s weekly schedule places the food truck at Music + Market on Thursday, August 6, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Levee Park.
The underlying City event is free, and the truck’s first-party weekly schedule identifies its planned attendance.
Music + Market itself appeared in Monday’s LOCAL 10. Today’s update adds only Caffeinated Rooster’s scheduled stop, which remains subject to normal mobile-vendor availability.
